The 1959BJA marks Marshall’s first artist signature amplifier in 14 years. Arriving July 21 with a $3,999.99 price tag, the head-only unit features a custom “Dookie Mod,” a circuit tweak developed alongside producer Rob Cavallo to capture the aggressive, high-gain sound synonymous with the group’s early records. The aesthetic pays homage to Armstrong’s first guitar, dubbed Blue, featuring a matching baby-blue finish alongside brass and silver paneling.
Armstrong described the collaboration as a full-circle moment for his career. “I’m so overjoyed to have my own signature Marshall amp,” he said, noting the brand’s presence throughout his musical life. Unlike standard combo units, this head-only design allows guitarists to pair the hardware with their preferred speaker cabinets for both studio and live performances. The unit will be available through authorized retailers and the official Marshall website.
