These devices are not gifts in the traditional sense; they function through a 24-month financing agreement. T-Mobile applies monthly bill credits to balance the phone's retail cost over two years. Should a customer cancel their service, switch carriers, or upgrade to a newer model before the 24-month period concludes, the remaining balance on the handset becomes due immediately. Participants must also account for upfront taxes and a one-time $35 activation fee at the point of purchase.
