Anthropic expands Claude Cowork to mobile and web platforms

The expansion introduces cross-device continuity, allowing a project initiated on a desktop to be monitored or retrieved from a smartphone. Claude Cowork functions by integrating with calendars, email, and messaging applications to execute workflows independently. According to Anthropic, more than 90 percent of current usage involves general knowledge work, such as reconciling quarterly financial reports, managing contract renewals, or synthesizing call transcripts into presentations.

Sessions now operate in the background, enabling the agent to complete scheduled jobs overnight. Despite this autonomy, the system requires human intervention for critical decisions and final output approval. While the desktop application retains unique capabilities like local file access and browser integration, the web and mobile interfaces provide a unified experience for users who previously lacked desktop access. To mark the launch, Anthropic has doubled usage limits for the tool through August 5.
